January 2020 I received an award from San Francisco Center for the Book to make an edition of 100 - 4" x 4" books. I am extremely thankful for this opportunity!
In August, 2019, I was awarded an Artist Residency and Stipend to create a small edition of a new book at In Cahoots Residency. A special thank you to California Society of Printmakers for creating this residency program.
I am the new Artist Residency Manager and Adult Classes Coordinator at Kala Art Institute in Berkeley, California! This is an exciting step at an institute I have admired for many years. Starting September, 2018.
I am so fortunate to know people working with amazing organizations. A life-long friend has allowed me to come in and teach art once a week at the Institute on Aging here in San Francisco. The link below is a way to donate to their fantastic program that allows quality of life to continue...please click on it to read more!
I recently started volunteering at NIAD Art Centre. Link underneath to donate, browse, purchase, or volunteer if you are in the Bay Area!
In America, less than a quarter of adults with disabilities are employed. And most of them are stuffing envelopes, pushing brooms or cutting grass. Many are making a minimum or sub-minimum wage.
At NIAD Art Center we do a lot for adults with disabilities. And there is nothing redundant or menial around here.
Although we sell a lot of art (last year, we sold 1,400+ works), arts sales are only a small part of our income. To keep our doors open, the lights on, and the paint in our artists’ pots, we depend on support from people like you. Your money helps an adult with a disability participate in a productive way in the larger world.
Please, give what you can and know we will appreciate whatever amount you can afford. Thanks, in advance!
