Home, Sweet Home Series
Recently I have begun to incorporate the printed surfaces of found objects into my practice: metal platters, wood, cardboard…each with a narrative of cuts, scrapes and nicks that hold a rich history of use. Once printed these material records of memory appear brighter, richer and shimmering, the imperfections highlighted. Drawing inspiration from Kintsugi, the traditional Japanese technique of using clay and gold to repair chipped or broken pottery.
